Well?

Obviously the answer is no. So why do they get such a hard time with such little support to integrate them back into society?

Because most people don't want to face up to the fact that reality isn't some fucked up morality tale and that their success has less to do with them than they would like, and that their relative prosperity is actually precarious.

Some yes some no. Some people are priced out of the areas they used to live. Others had very rough childhoods and are battling addictions. A lot are also mental health patients. Others refuse to go to shelters over the restrictions placed on them. Its a lot of stuff.

Some combination of bad luck and bad choices. The problem is that homelessness can be nearly impossible to climb out of if one doesnt have anybody at all to lean on for the smallest amount of support.

Worth bearing in mind a lot of addicts on the street become addicts AFTER they are made homeless as a way to cope. There are still a number of homeless who become homeless because of being an addict though. They still need help though.

Deny, and even if every single homeless person was homeless because of their own poor choices (whatever that means) they would all still deserve a home.

The majority are probably mentally ill and/or addicts, so it kind of depends on how you define choose. You might need to literally institutionalize a good chunk of them to even get them to stay inside a facility, but we know our track record with that.

Apropos of nothing, many things have been tried and one thing has been found to be most effective in solving "the homeless problem".

And that's housing.

The fear of homelessness keeps people in line and gets them to go to work. That's the sad truth.

I feel like it's pretty difficult to actually become homeless without burning every bridge you've ever had, so yes, it usually is down to bad choices, mostly in the form of drug/alcohol abuse.

most of the people ive known that have become homeless it was because their family were huge pieces of shit, situations were it was better to be homeless. not the norm but definitely a thing.

Homelessness is a result of the structure of the economy and cultural failings. Lots of people make "poor decisions" all over the world and yet rates of homelessness vary widely. That's not what determines whether people are left to rot without a pot to piss in.

I would argue instead they are the result of extremely successful evil policies.

My father in law is homeless by choice he had 3 chances and he didn't want them at all not only that he always wants his rules/stipulations/conditions/standards which he never follows/applies to himself.
