The first time I bought a house I called a plumber a few days in because our water heater wasn't working. Turns out the circuit breaker was off and just needed to be switched on. That was a $75 mistake I learned from. Point is, if you were never taught something, you gotta learn somehow. Some lessons are harsher than others. --- Congratulations! The important thing is you learn to laugh at these embarrassing moments instead of Beat yourself up. I find it hilarious when I do stuff like that. I just look at the person while either holding in a laugh or letting it out. Like you implied, it's only a mistake you'll make once. Why stress it. I also laugh in people's faces if Im around when they makemistakes like these. When I first moved into my new place I had no idea how to light a pilot light cause I've always heard it was dangerous and that a professional should do it for you. So I called my landlord and asked him to send a tech to turn it on, then he said to call the power company. The power company sent someone over and they lit it free of charge, and then extinguished it a few months later also for free. The next year when it started getting cold I decided to look up how to do it on YouTube and discovered it was super simple to just do it myself, so I did. No idea where I got the info that I should never touch my own pilot light from. It was awfully silly in retrospect. --- Who is? I am! ... Copied to Clipboard!
