Robin Williams

Patch Adams is one of my favorite movies that my dad showed me

the way his mind worked was amazing
he was a different breed of comedian

sucks that he caught something that made him go away

Owen Hart

That's it.

I'll admit that sometimes I get that somber feeling when listening to Linkin Park, Amy Winehouse, or *insert 90s grunge/post grunge act here* but never actual tears.

It was sad news when Byron 'Reckful' Bernstein died.

Depressing story below

He died through suicide from jumping from the balcony of his apartment building. In the months prior he had been participating in these sort of online therapy sessions to help others struggling with mental health problems (I think he had bi-polar disorder himself). In one of the sessions he mentions how he been having recurring nightmares where he was falling.

No but I almost came close with Betty White. Golden Girls pretty much plays on loop in my house so it almost feels like she's part of my family.

When Madonna goes, though, I am going to be inconsolable.

Terry Pratchett got me. There was just something particularly tragic about someone with so many ideas left to write slowly losing the ability to express himself. The fact that the process was so honestly and openly documented by him and his family and friends made it hit home. Plus he lived quite close to me and I met him several times, which surely made it harder.

Bowie hit me, too, but that was less tragic because he clearly accepted it and went out on such a high note.

I've never cried from the death of anyone even close to me. I don't know why, I know ill miss them and never see them again, but I just dont cry over death. Now I bawled my eyes out when we thought my daughter had leukemia, or during any sappy shit in any media, but funerals and the deaths of people have never triggered tears before.

Im not really a crier but definitely been real sad and real down after a few. I was young as hell but Chris Farley got me, couldnt watch any of his movies or anything for several years after. Kobe was real tough. DMX. Dolph. Pop Smoke only because I had like just gotten really into him. Nate Dogg bummed me out a lot.

honestly the only one that actually got me a bit was Jessica Walter. i've watched Arrested Development (just seasons 1-3 of course) about a thousand times and Archer a fair amount as well.

she was such a treasure, and i only know her from those two shows. i'm sure she's been in shitloads more that were more or less before my time. but she is just so much fun in those two shows that it did leave a little bit of a mark

Dunno if he can be considered a celebrity or not, but Monty Oum's death hit me pretty hard. He had so much going for him and he was such a savant of his craft. Such a terrible way to go, going for a routine medical procedure and having an allergic reaction.

Rest in peace Monty.

Pretty much any death of a Muppeteer on Sesame Street or Sesame Street adult who was in "Follow That Bird" fucks me up. Not enough to cry, but close.

This included Jim Henson, Carol Spinney (Big Bird), Jerry Nelson (the Count) Luis, Olivia, and David.

No, but I've felt bad about the death of a celebrity before. I can sympathize with people who do cry because what they gave them meant a lot to them, even if I haven't felt that strongly. I will say Terry Pratchett was one of the people whose death certain bummed me out at least.
