You're not missing much with the base story. It's reality poor to bad until the expansions.

Don't skip scenes, but yeah a lot of people find the base story boring. It all pays off later, though.

Kinda want to play Dark Knight one day too, but I don't care for tanking. Leveling Paladin to 90 was enough for me.

You get a chocobo pretty early on. It can't fly until you beat ARR at lv50 though.

While there is a lot of crap in ARR so many plot threads for later expansions are setup in it and if you just skip everything you'll be clueless in the expansions.

I think I'd rather watch paint dry tbh. I get I might not fully have appreciated later stuff, but the story is offensively dull with poor characters until later where they all greatly improve.

It's more like 'run for 5 minutes for a quest, do the quest in 30 seconds, run back, woo hoo you get to do it all again'

You actually can skip all of the story scenes regardless of where you are in it. I liked Heavensward enough but havent given a damn about anything thats happened since, so it was all time that could have been better spent.

for a popular MMO it is not popular with me

Its pretty boring but aight if you got friends who wanna dick around. Though there are better games to play with an established friend group.

Don't force yourself to play something you don't like.

It gets good after 100 hours

if you dont think youll enjoy the first 100 hours, dont force yourself to play it and go play something else you like more

Yes, the only downside is now you're dealing with AI which is usually worse than other players. That and if you go down you can't wait on the healer to raise you, you start over.

Only if you suck. The AI can handle it fine, as long as you don't do the standard "pull loads" as you would with actual people.

NPCs do maybe half or less than half of the DPS of a real player. I know because I used NPCs during the shadowbringers msq

I'll try it again tomorrow and see if I get the mount and then see how annoying it is

and wow classic is actually more tolerable as warlock
