I just bought it on sale and I'm having a hard time enjoying the game so far, it doesn't feel fun or even remotely like an RE game, the shooting is terrible, the other controls are unresponsive at the best of times and menus have full second lag when I interact with something.

I also can't stand how the game seems to think the definition of horror is taking control away and having some large monster jump in your face and essientially shout "Roar I'm a big scary monster! Fear me!"

Im right at the refund threshold and I wonder if I should stick with it in the (possibly vain)hope it picks up, I know I'm right at the start too.

Played it for a few hours but it was too scary for me. I dont like knowing Im gonna be startled.

It was fun, I liked the castle and the following area the most

were you on PC or console? I'm on PC and I know my PC is fine and should be able to handle it fine but I'll mess aorund in settings if I continue.

i was on an xbox one x at the time

I loved the game and it played perfectly fine on my XboneX. Only thing is, the quality dips like crazy after the castle and the doll house part. The part after the doll house is just OK at best, and the Borg collective part is straight up annoying and boring.

I loved it. Reminded me a lot of RE4. I love when games actually reward you for replaying. The only part that can suck is the doll house. It was absolutely awesome the first time through, but it gets very tedious with each play through.

I didn't like it very much. The part you mentioned about losing control over your character and getting shown spooky stuff rather than playing through it really resonates.
