my comfortable walking speed is around 1km/15 minutes

Yeah. I walk 4 miles on Tuesday and Wednesday, and 9 on Friday, Sat, and Sun. I shoot for 4.5 miles an hour. If I know that 2 miles is the end goal I can ramp up the pace to hit your goal.

I could do it, but that is not a fun walk. That is a really fast walking speed which is pretty uncomfortable. I could more easily run 2 miles in 16 minutes

It just is. The muscle usage is different. Walking at a 12.5/mile pace is unnatural for most people. 15 to 20 is standard. Running at a 8/mile pace is kinda fast but not unnatural.

If you're under like 6'4" and have normal body proportions, 9 km per hour is the maximum "walking" speed a person can go without potentially hurting yourself. And maintaining that for 25 minutes would surely be uncomfortable, for everyone, regardless of what shape you're in.

The farthest I've ever actually *only* walked in an hour was 6.7 km. I know for sure there's no way any 3.2 km-split I had in there was 25 minutes.

Merely widening your stride without increasing your cadence can only take you so fast (I'm guessing only about 3.5-4 mph). To walk nearly 5 mph or faster, you will have increase your cadence as well without changing your form into a jog or run. Go ahead and try to walk a 12 minute mile for 2 miles by increasing only your stride length and not your cadence and tell us how you did.

Yeah like, that's the objectively wrong way to do it like there's no debate. You actually need to shorten your stride so you're taking more steps in the same amount of distance.
