Got the Sennheiser CX Plus earbuds, and the quality is a lot better than I was expecting (like, maybe actually better than the old wired earbuds I have, and not too much worse than my actual over-the-head headset)

still a bit worried I'll get some loud alert on my phone that'll burst my eardrums like that one kid in the news who got an amber alert at max volume >_>

Sounds like these are actually loud? I just bought some Airpod Pros and am incredibly disappointed with how loud they go. The other day, the music at the gym was louder than the music I was trying to listen to on my phone while working out!

(I don't see this complaint commonly for Airpods so I know I am probably just deaf from listening to music/everything really loudly all the damn time and many concerts during my youth.)

I may have to check these out though just based on loudness. Probably returning my Airpod Pros tomorrow.

I haven't really tested out how loud they can get, mostly just listen to headphone music quietly

the noise cancelling doesn't seem all that great, but it's not really a feature I need

the transparent sound mode is pretty cool

You are 100% not turning on noise canceling.

When its off, they are designed to let outside sound in.

Put them in with nothing playing, then hold the stem until it beeps and they turn into earplugs.
