When I'm out delivering to nice neighborhoods with sidewalks, I'll see a good amount of people walk in the street instead of using the sidewalks. Even with cars parked on the side of the road, they still do. This baffles me because I live in a shit hole without sidewalks. Is there a specific reason people do this? I see it's usually senior citizens doing it.

I don't know... and it bugs me as well.

I mean, if given the choice between a road all for yourself (sidewalk) or having to dodge cars (the street)... it doesn't seem like a hard choice to make.

But a lot of people actually seem to struggle with making it.

On residential streets, if its late or just generally low-traffic, Ill walk in the street

more fun. feels more open. no rationality is involved whatsoever

Sideswalks didn't exist when they were young. It's confusing to them

Sidewalks arent maintained so theres shit like spider webs and bugs and uneven footing etc

We don't have any except for the main strip or downtown neighborhoods.

what really bugs me, is that there could be a traffic light 10 feet from someone and they will still choose to cross where they are.
