It's been awhile since I played but I see this deck is gone from the meta.

Was it because Mox Opal got banned or something else?

That deck was straight toxic so I am happy to see it gone.

For those who don't know, it was a combo deck that once you had your combo off(easy as hell to do) you pretty much controlled the top card of your opponent's deck. So tied them up and only allowed them to draw what you wanted them to draw.

I once played a game in the early days of Magic, where my opponent (a friend, not part of a tournament or anything) managed to play multiple Demonic Hordes, which meant they were destroying my land every turn. They got to the point where I literally could do nothing, yet they still made me draw through my entire deck (for the running-out-of-cards loss) rather than attacking me down to 0 health.

Denial decks suck (if you're the victim).

Of course, I also used to run a deck myself packed full of cards like Millstone and Hymn to Tourach, which basically played out by having my opponent throw away all their cards, and just milled down their library so they could never get any cards (and then I'd throw a Rack on them for good measure), until they'd run out cards for the loss, so I am not innocent in that respect either.
