Like running out the clock at the end of a game when youre leading in basketball or not swinging at a 3-0 pitch in baseball.

Agreed, but often times especially in baseball players will alienate themselves for breaking the bullshit unwritten rules.

Sometimes those rules are just as simple as not being a dick, though.

Like arguably running out the clock in a blowout is less dickish than running up the score.
