This one went really well, I think. I've been here before but never this successfully. I did have one joke that sort of bombed but I edited it out.

I'm going to submit a request for auditions here. That would mean modestly paid work. I'm not sure I'm ready but I have to try.

Fucking. This.

I had a set that utterly collapsed week and half ago. The next night, at the next show, I killed it.

Pay attention to your mistakes, and come back better!

I've always wanted to ask a comedian this...what drives you to continue when this happens? The vast majority of people would basically never get on stage again if they bombed out like that. Like if I think about a room full of people laughing AT me and not with me, or just making awkward looks at each other because I suck, or the terrible silence of my jokes not getting anywhere...shudder. That's gotta be the worst.

Props to you all for the guts.

Thank you. I was on the verge of tears backstage. The comedy community I'm a part of had my back and encouraged me that it wasn't that bad and tomorrow will be better.

Hit the grindstone that night and came back swinging. Had an amazing next night.

I like the Seattle opener a lot more than the Brooklyn one. I also thought you did a lot better job of maintaining your rhythm throughout the set than the other three I had watched (waterwheel 4/27 & 5/4, Jai Thai 5/20). I laughed pretty hard at the gateway drug to lesbianism joke, not really an original concept but it landed really well.

Great feedback, thanks a lot for watching those.

In a way I'm on their side if that happens. It makes sense to me that people wouldn't think I'm funny on stage. If anything, I'm more surprised when the opposite happens. Although there are times when what I think will be funny just isn't but I accept that as part of the risk. I haven't had a crowd be actively hostile toward me yet but I imagine that would be harder to deal with than just silence (though it does suck, it usually means I'm not at my best).

That was funny. The prostate exam line got me. You're really great with the crowd.

The club is putting me on an audition showcase next week. I'm excited but already nervous. I've only done open mics so far and I need to invite people I know who haven't seen me before.
