This kind of stuff reminds me of music, mostly metal music. Subgenres of subgenres have their own subgenres. Nothing wrong with it, but it can be confusing sometimes.

Sexuality is a spectrum. The term heterosexuality could be used as general category for various similar sexualities. Same with homo/asexuality.

Someone is asexual, specifically this kind of asexual

Someone is gay, specifically this kind of gay

Someone is Christian, specifically this kind of Christian

Spectrums within spectrums.

This always annoyed me. I get it. I get there's a purpose for it. And if someone who knows better wants to correct me that the song I like is Gypsy Punk instead of Crust Punk (both actual subgenres) then I'll give him a listen, but I don't actually fucking care. Unless you're in the Punk scene it's too confusing for normal people to understand.

Too much going on. I need to slowly digest this in more context over time for anything to stick. I feel like we blast people with too much information these days. I doubt anyone is like "HERE THEY ARE, LEARN THEM ALL NOW!" Lol. But, even with my interest, it's not relevant enough in my every day life to stick. Imma read a couple tho. I literally just learned about the history of the original flag and the flag that added the representation of the black community. Pretty interesting stuff.

Yeah, I get the point of it too and humans love categorizing stuff, but sometimes it can be a bit much and will get hyper specific. Of course you have some fans act like jerks about mislabeling something so sometimes you don't even want to discuss it at all.

Im not gonna use a flag. But Im curious if Im covered in any of these. I feel like Im definitely not Asexual, but at the same time Im way closer to Asexual than I am to this (what feels like to me) oversexualized time period. I just don't see sex as this super important thing and see most people using it as an addiction. Hell, even people who never had sex treat it like an addiction. Which is interesting in itself.

I value sex, but I feel like we've taken out a lot of the mental stimulation that's supposed to come with the physical end. Like, actually caring about the person you're having sex with on a deeper than artificial level.

As soon as you publish something like this online, you open yourself up to casual conversation. That's what I was getting at.

I have no problem with such labels, but I think that standard generalizations and/or shortcuts work just fine unless you happen to find yourself in a niche situation where these exclusivist terms actually come up in conversation.

I just watched a video about this too. We love to ignore the racism that runs rampant in the LGBTQ community. It's just another place where the white end thinks it's only important to help themselves. And those people bring a bad light to a community with overall very good goals.

There comes a point where you stop making flags for sexualities and start making flags for fetishes.

Like "Fraysexuality" is literally just dating someone that you don't have much in common with. The more you know them, the less you like them. That's not a sexual orientation.

I think a lot of this stuff is weird, but knowing your sexual needs and not partnering with someone who does not fit that would likely lead to more fulfilling relationships.

Is there one for experiencing sexual attraction but having no desire for a sexual or romantic relationship. Like cupiosexaulity here, but the inverse I guess.
