I would definitely go with female, overall. their writing and the way their vocalize themselves just hits more points than a lot of male singers IMO.

I don't think either is better, but I think I prefer male singers overall.

Male singers have a wider octave range than females, but a female's voice is much more pleasant to the ear.

I think male singers tend to have more versatile voices than female singers. Guys can sing almost as high as women with training and it's naturally easier for us to hit lower notes. I really like rock music but I have to actively try to find female lead vocalists that I like because it seems like its harder for them to get the same amount of grit in their voices as dudes.

In general, I often find female singers to sing more beautiful, but I think that has a to do with what is promoted in culture.

Most of my favorite bands have male singers. And I'd take Chris Cornell over anybody.

I find male vocalists to generally have more compelling lyrics that I enjoy, even if they arent as nice to listen to, whereas female vocalists are more pleasant to listen to, while maybe not necessarily singing songs I like as much.

I mean theres a ton of music out there, so thats not a hard and fast rule or anything, just scrolling through my playlists, thats the prevailing trend.
