I still have a twinge of nostalgia for TPM. The spectacle of big-budget CGI was still relatively new, and some of those shots were pretty awe-inspiring at the time. The double-bladed lightsaber reveal was cool as fuck to a 15-year-old in the 90's, and I genuinely enjoyed the podrace.

I recently rewatched TPM and that sentiment still holds up - there's enough I still kinda like about the movie that makes it worth giving a spin every half-decade or so. I fell asleep halfway through my AotC rewatch and didn't care to finish it. I didn't even bother with RotS, considering that I couldn't even be arsed to make it through AotC.

As with most of these, the setup movie if good on its own but the followup sucks actually brings it down.

its an easy 5* movie only the nerdiest nerds hate it i LOVE that movie its iconic

Any Dooku Fans who aren't just into Christopher Lee? He does bring more of that classic and retro element to the film, which is much needed considering what it's trying to emulate and mix with. I'm not sure they were able to get a single shot right with him tho.

That's wild, never even considered that. Feels like the pressure would be so much worse there than it is to just put the reigns in their mouth like we've done here for hundreds of years.

It's been awhile since I've had farm work on the brain, but I don't think cows really take to mouth bridles the way horses do; they're also not as smart as horses, and much stronger than horses. So the nose piercing + ring or rope through it is the best way to control a cow's head, because they'll be fighting against themselves (not personally advocating such a practice, just an observation). I'm guessing the cows in that pic are tied together to keep them in sync (and it's also wrapped around their heads to alleviate most of the pressure and keep them from ripping each others' snouts off).

This practice is incidentally where the phrase 'lead around by the nose' originated.

Pod racing and Duel of the Fates are honestly some of the best stuff from Star Wars.

I would much rather watch TPM than AotC. Episode I at least has a couple of good things going for it. Clones sucks all around.

I don't know why, but I loved the Phantom Menace PS1 game.

Some KOTOR vibes, no?

Little kid Anakin & Jar Jar both bring Phantom Menace down, but it's well directed, has some fantastic music, & the best lightsaber battle in the series.

The direction stands out to me because of how well the movie was shot, especially compared to all the shakey cam action movies of that era. Lucas may suck as a screenwriter, but he knows how to make a good looking movie.

I think PM was okay, it was just like an 30-60 minutes longer than it should've been. A lot of pointless filler that could've been cut to make a more streamlined story.

Though being a good 30 minutes longer than it should have been is pretty on point for Star Wars movies since though.

Yeah but its a flaw that probably applies to every Star Wars movie, except the first one. Its usually closer to 30 minutes too long than 60, but still every movie in the franchise is padded to **** for some reason.

Im still shocked that people love the lightsaber fight

its so overly choreographed and looks so silly

Duel of the fates is my favorite Star Wars track.

Phantom Menace isn't very good.
Attack of the Clones is actively bad.

I finished Revenge of the Sith last night. Was solid although a few parts could have been better acted. I dont think it was quite as good as Phantom Menace, but it was quite a bit better than attack of the clones. I am excited to start the obi wan tv show next

I love Revenge of The Sith idc what anybody says that movie rocks

The prequels are underrated imo, but they're still not as good as the OT.

The coolest parts of Star Wars make up for all of the dumb stuff.

Favorite part of "That 70s Show" is when Red goes to tsee a New Hope and hates everything except for the Death Star explosion

I thought the implication for that scene was that they were watching the opening scrawl and Red thought it was dumb, but liked it when the ships flew onto screen shooting at each other.
