Just got a couple of notifications that so and so are new followers even though I haven't been actually active here for a few years, the fuck?

Anyone else experiencing something similar?

And more importantly, why can't we remove followers? I remember people asked for it back when followers became a thing like... I dunno, 10 years ago or so.

You used to be able to by friending then blocking whoever followed you. Tails and several other dipshits went a big following spree a while back.

If you don't want them following you, block them. It serves the exact purpose you want and it takes just as many clicks as removing them as a follower would.

You have to follow them back first, otherwise they still show up in your followers list. Follow, then block, and you can unblock if want will remove them from your list.

I know, but if they are going to complain about extra steps then they don't have to follow them to get the effects of blocking.

so these nerds with "new" by their names have randomly followed us (me and Carlox), also DaNoid2 and Frogluver but those were last week, we should have the option to disable following or let us remove them!!

I guess this won't change until the site appears in the news for something negative that mentions followers.
