Yes, Batman has time to plan.

But remember Ryu has been 'planning' for any fight his whole life

In a staight up fair fight I'd go with Ryu. They never pretend he's the best martial artist in his universe but he's clearly faster and stronger to super human levels. I only give Ryu an edge though

But if batman can use his toys and stealth tactics. Batman easily.

The one with plot armor, obviously.

If Marvel ever purchases DC, the one consolation of Disney's monopoly will be that Batman will actually lose a fight without excuses.

Yeah I could see them making him lose a lot just to be petty. Kinda like DC buying superman knock offs. Makes one a superman fan boy (shazam) and another they retcon his orgin story to be he was a scientific attempt at making a superman (apollo)

Batman has lost a *lot* of fights. He just mostly wins wars.

This is stupid. The guy with a billion dollar backing amd gadgets out the wazoo with time to plan vs. A guy who is slightly above superhuman physical prowess and a elite martial artist.

Obviously batman. Should have made it no prep time and he only gets his standard load out.

Batman nonlethal takes him down, Ryu gets up and goes "Gee whiz I sure am looking forward to getting stronger and trying again.
Ryu doesn't mind losing because in the fight he resisted the temptation of the satsui no hado and lost with dignity or something.

I think ryu wins in a regular street fight. He should be at least as strong as bane but much faster.

I agree with this. In a straight up fight Ryu could take Batman, but he may need to stop holding back and maybe use the Mu No Hado or Satsui No Hado to do it. With gadgets Batman of course has the advantage though. Ryu has greater strength feats and access to Ki attacks and when using the Mu No Hado or Satsui No Hado his feats are easily superhuman level, but compared to regular Ryu, Batman is more experienced, cunning and probably a bit more agile. But Batman has lost to lesser fighters in terms of strength, speed and skill before which leads me to believe that Ryu has a good chance of winning in a straight up fight.

It wouldn't have to be petty. Pretty much all of the Marvel heavy hitters have lost fair fights to villains or other heroes. Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, Spider-Man, Captain America, etc.

In the movies, at least.

They've done that as well. Heck, Batman has "officially" lost to the Predator (and in an almost pathetic showing from Batman) in that cross-over and has never had another one afterwards (hence the "officially").

Ryu stomps. Nobody remembers what Batman "with time to plan" actually means, so here's a breakdown.

Batman is told he'll be fighting Ryu in a week, and begins preparing for the fight. He researches chi and killing intent and he even defeats shen long so he'll stand a chance.

Then, on the night before the big fight, some motherfucker hacks the Bat Cave computers and steals all of Batman's data on Ryu, and now all the sudden every random goon and mook in the city is throwing spin-kicks at the Gotham PD. Cars at the Gotham docks are getting obliterated. The entire world is beginning to degenerate into a no-holds-barred street fighting massacre and it's all Batman's fault, so he cries to the Justice League who are like "Goddammit Bruce you're 30 years old learn how to use a mother fucking firewall you tech-illiterate asshole"

So while Batman has been run ragged physically and mentally, Ryu has just been chilling on some random Pagoda rooftop and the fight starts and Batman gets murked by the first Hadoken. Game over.

Uhh. He had superman dead to rights when he faked his death. Iirc he ended the fight with saying pretty much he wanted to prove he could and wanted superman to know he could be taken down by a mere human. Super man was already fighting in a weakened state from the start of the fight but bats was old and injured himself. Only part I can nitpick is he had help from green arrow.

It also seemed he faked his death so he cloud slip off the radar and him operate fully from the shadows.

He didn't want to kill Bruce but Batman would have rather have died than to surrender to the federal government, so Superman was reluctantly beating his ass all the while begging Bruce to surrender.

Even then Bruce knew his only real shot of getting out of that fight was to pretend to die. Bruce could talk all the shit he wanted but he knew if that battle went on any longer that fight wasn't gonna be his.

That's not a win, that's minimilizing losses. Sure you can say that his plan went off successfully but that's quite a different thing from saying he won that fight. Winners don't need to dig themselves out of their own graves while the loser "grieves" his dead body and voluntarily chooses to walk away.

No he didnr wanna kill him. He coulda killed him. Wanted to prove he could but poking the bear and being like "haha totally coulda killed you." Isn't a good plan.

The fake death is really more so he could operate from the shadows while everyone thought he was dead. Superman smiling at hearing his heartbeat shows this. If superman cared enough he woulda ripped his ass out of the ground. And batman knew superman could hear that good. But batman knew superman didnt care that much he was just doing as told. With his fake death superman was off the hook on eliminating him and bats could keep doing what he does just more secretively

So yeah all it was was a big spectacle so both got what they wanted. Batmans ego just wouldn't allow him to lose. If he was gonna go down it was gonna be by his choosing on how.

Batman vs superman is a different story. Batman got lucky. Superman already killed once and the two wherent friends yet. Batman took a gamble and got lucky.

Ryu with time to plan is more or less as intimidating as Green Lantern in sunlight. It not bad/useless, per say, but in the same vein that sunlight makes a dramatic difference in what Superman kan do, "Time to plan" and the amount of it make the dramatic difference in what Batman kan do.

Strength and speed wise. Sf 3 shows him struggling bit lifting a Boulder maybe 3 times his own body size. Sf 3 also has him being able to parry all of Chun lis super which is pretty fast.
