As for holding up, it's interesting as a kind of proto isekai, but I'll be honest the pacing is glacial. It's a 7/10 kind of series imo. --- In simplicity, utility. Especially with the data core farming you'll need to do in the second and fourth games since they require more than a few of several kinds. But dang, I watched the main movie scenes for the games the other week and it had a lot of heart. Sign was a great anime but I get why most can't handle it. It randomly needs some cores for early game ones that you probably zoomed right past the level range of. Like, 11 of them plus the 8 or so you needed earlier in the game. Worst part of the 4th game is the post game super rng dungeon and getting the virus cores for the story. And nisioisin's early career was pretty obviously influenced by contemporary things coming out at that time. Never gonna open it because it is for collecting. But you'd never know what console it is for because they didn't label the first printing with a console logo. Apparently the second printing fixed it.
