Anyone find the study of words and their origins to be fascinating?

For example, jumbo means large because of an elephant in the late 1800's was named Jumbo.

Also, the word dunce comes from a late 1200's scientist named John Duns who was later found to be wrong about most of his theories. His continued followers were called Dunces.

I wouldn't say I love it, but I do look up the etymology of words from time to time when curiosity strikes me.

Actually, yes.
Everything about it is fascinating.

Having said that, English spelling is janky AF.

I love Japanese etymology, the origin of kanji and their meanings is fascinating.

One day I want to start a YT channel about it.
