My classic rock station started playing Kashmir sometime last week, so you could tune in and all you missed was the intro.

Well the 90s are like 20+ years ago.

Led Zepplin and Van Halen are now the current oldies.

Hell knows what the 50s and 60s would be called.

Idk, in the 90s Zepplin and Sabbath were considered classic rock so it makes sense 90s music might fall into that category now

In the 80s the 50s and 60s were oldies.

I knew this because of the Rock N Roll Oldies Show.

In the 90s the 70s were classic.

The 80s were just called that 80s stuff in the 90s.

It literally is. It's a radio format that originated in the late 80s playing rock music from 5-30 years previous, not a specific time window; what was considered classic at the time.

What's classic to a previous generation isn't classic to the current and theirs won't be classic to the next generation. Which is why music from the 90s has been played on stations for at least 10 years, and you're starting to hear early 2000s tracks.

If you get pissed because Soundgarden is being played on the "Sabbath and Zeppelin" station, that's on you.
