I mean to reduce Linda Carter to a "failing actress" who's attempting to take advantage of a marginalized group and take credit she doesn't deserve to revive her career as your first natural reaction seems like a possible sign of mental illness, much less "a tad too much cynicism" lol. She has had nearly half a century being known for being Wonder Woman. All that time spent interacting with her fans and followers and being told what the show meant to them. Have you?

Good on her, but I'm not familiar with anything about WW that'd make her a trans icon. Even queer is a bit of a stretch since it's mostly just inferred that the Amazons would have same-sex relationships.

I will say my favorite reply is the idiot who said the Matrix being a trans allegory was only made up later when it was made by the fuckin' Wachowski sisters.

There was a run in DC comics that showed Amazon's basically boarded sailors ships raped and killed them then if they had a boy it was sold into slavery to one of the Greek gods. Wonder woman as queen rescued them and gave them a little reservation on the island which initially caused tension between her and her own people
