It's always good when criminal cops face justice for their crimes. It needs to happen more.

this is good and i'm glad he's being punished but we should also be looking at what motivates officers to do this kind of thing. was he trying to meet some quota or earn some kind of bonus? is there an initiative or an incentive to do it? was he pressured by his peers or his superiors?

arresting one bad cop is treating the symptom not the cause. and i'm not saying it has to be one or the other, we can and should absolutely do both, always. there is zero room for ineffective or abusive police in any police department and we the people need to hold law enforcers accountable.

This is why you don't consent to a car search. Way too easy for a crooked cop to 'find' something.

Authority figures who abuse their power like that really ought to face permanent concequences for their actions. Apparently someone lost custody of their kid because of this asshole's actions.

That older guy the cop framed who broke down in tears hit home, going to jail can fuck up your whole life and even your loved ones. I got kidnapped by the cops and put away for days while I was my dads hospice nurse and they wouldnt give me a phone call so he was completely stranded and it was really rough for him. Probably cut his life that much shorter.

it's easy to say "just refuse! don't consent!" online.
guy i knew had his window busted out and got dragged out of his car for refusing to cooperate. then they just went through his shit anyway. he called a few lawyers trying to push back after the fact and nobody would take it on.
the shit is completely and utterly fucked. law enforcement should be held accountable to the law ten times as much as any citizen and yet they can break the law willy nilly and face no consequences, how can we expect people to trust them?

Any cop found creating, planting, or tampering with ANY sort of evidence should immediately have the case thrown out, review of all past cases, and be fired along with jail time.

Charges were dropped on 120 people.

Cop is on video putting down a small baggy of drugs and then picking them back up.

The cop said that the drug dealer said that they were his and that they apologized that it had gone all viral. Everybody dropped it after that. I couldnt even find any kind of follow-up after that or anything about any charges or trial. Probably because the pandemic hit immediately after so his court date probably got pushed back significantly and the defendant was dead a year later.

But hey, maybe it was the cops that killed him, right?
