Apparently im causing problems because im acting like I dont want to be here and im bored playing in my phone most of the time not paying much attention to the vacation.

Why would I be enthusiastic about the vacation when this vacation is only for the kids?

I was told:

its not about you anymore from now on when deciding vacations. its all about the kids.

And I accepted that my opinion doesnt matter anymore when it comes to deciding vacations. Thats why im only here because I have to be here and im just waiting for this vacation to end so I can finally go back to work.

Im not complaining but I definitely am bored and not enthusiastic about being here. What exactly is the problem? I still showed up to the vacation even if I dont like it and im barely paying attention to it

I get it because I used to do that when I was a teenager, but since you're there might as well make the best of it.

There isn't a problem, especially given the context you gave us.

A lot of people think we're obligated to socialize with them, particularly if we're close to them.

Guess what? We aren't. People aren't generally that interesting anyways imo :p

Idk. You can still do vacations with just your SO every once in a while. My mom still got her vacations to a bunch of places. And she had three kids Just not all the time. And maybe try to do something with the kids. My mom always did stuff with us. We tried to do a bunch of family stuff. But wed also do kid stuff without her. Tbh, Id just enjoy the rest and break from work. But I use the free time to sleep and catch up on games. And just relax. Something I dont usually get to do

Im dying of boredom here. All we do is stay in the resort and relax in the beach. We cant leave the damn resort because apparently its too dangerous in Mexico to do so.

and I have to suffer of boredom here for 6 more days. fuck.

From what I've heard they're right. According to what I've heard, crooked Mexican cops like to hang out close to resorts and make stuff up to arrest tourists who leave them. Dont give them a steep enough bribe they take you in and hold your passport hostage til you do.

Packing a vacation with stuff every minute of every day is exhausting, it's supposed to be about relaxing with downtime and doing things in places you ordinarily might not ever go.

its not that im not happy with them. im just bored in this vacation and this trip is not my thing.

The one time I went to an all-inclusive, they had a bunch of staff do shit with the kids so the parents could relax and get hammed. Like, they'd have a ton of games and activities planned for the kids of all ages.

This is true. Thats why I stopped trying to find something to do every minute of the day when in vacation. Sometimes, just relaxing in a hotel room or on the beach is enough

Resorts are pretty boring... Except for the free food and alcohol.

You could always make friends with some other parents.

Thats actually kind of cool That way, parents with kids could still get a vacation And its not something you see everywhere
