I understand that fundamentally I am just not consuming enough calories but damn I want you guys to understand, I eat 4 meals a day, have 2 protein shakes a day and drink like Thor. On saturday I ordered $70 worth of indian food and went through an entire bottle of wine and 8 beers.

And no goddamn weight gain.

TC what's your TDEE like and what kind of workout routine are you running? I had the same problem for years and I'm finally up ~15lbs since the start of the year.

My girlfriend is losing weight at the same time as I'm putting it on. She's lost 10kg, and I've put on...2. Ish.

I've just said fuck it and started eating a tub of B&J every day.

My metabolism is crazy fast too. The other day I ate a stove top meal for two, added some eggs, ate some extra sandwhiches...according to the scale it was at least 4 lbs worth of food.

All gone the next day. I can't get over 130 no matter what I do if I'm active.
I have some jaw problems so I don't even like eating gives me headaches sometimes. I'm trying to figure out how to put on my weight myself. I've been forcing myself to eat recently and it's not even coming close to what I need to put on weight. I've cut out all sweets so I don't want to gain weight with junk food.

My goal is gain at least 13-15 pounds in a healthy way...anybody got any tips for that? I drink protein shakes too but I only drink about one a day

I have the opposite problem then you. I don't want to get fat again. Some days I feel like I'm getting fatter, and it severely stresses me out. Then I look at the scale and see I'm still 205lbs. I'll happily take being a tall, lanky fucker over being a fat ass biped.

I think I can gain muscle ok if I keep up the calorie surplus but apparently I find that really hard, so indirectly - yes.

Tbh I was wanting to avoid counting calories because it's such an annoying process, and was hoping that if I just added in two extra meals and seconds for dinner the problem would sort of correct itself, but I seem to have plateaued.

I set a goal to hit 200lbs before my next cut but I can't seem to break 190.

Running a 4 day upper/lower split. But I think I do a lot of unintended NEAT so that would account for a lot of it.

Try putting more fat in your diet? No expert here, but if you eat a jar of peanut butter there's no way you won't pack on the pounds.

Like, cook with copius amounts of butter/olive oil too, eat nuts for snacks, etc.

It was my 4th week in a row with 2+ lbs of loss lol. Counting is what made the difference. After 2.5 years and 190 lbs already lost, I had become arrogant and thought I could run it all in my head, but without the visual its too easy to lose track of any excesses I was adding on an incidental basis. An example of that, is something like, my office time went longer than I had planned so I grabbed a Clif bar from the vending machine, but just because I didnt write it down Id almost be able to believe that those 260 calories and like 28+g of sugar didnt happen.

Im just sharing because perhaps you are experiencing the inverse problem, where youre not always reaching those caloric needs and getting burned in the averages.

What do you think of the people who do the GOMAD (gallon of milk a day), for weight gain?

I'm sure it's effective for weight gain but at the cost of everything else. My skin was bad enough just after introducing whey protein, I can't imagine what a literal gallon of milk every day would do.

Now that I think about it, I actually did that diet back in the 2010s when starting strength was the popular meme, and it worked for me because I was still quite young and very underweight. I can't see it being beneficial now, though.
