The family of an 11-year-old girl who survived the massacre at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, on Tuesday says the 4th grader played dead after the gunman entered her classroom.

Rivera said Miah's teacher, Irma Garcia, was one of the two teachers killed. Her friends and classmates were also targeted.

Rivera said that's when Miah went into survival mode.

"Miah got some blood and put it on herself so she could pretend she was dead," said Rivera. "It's too much for me to play that scene over and over again, but that's what my sister-in-law said is that she saw her friend full of blood and she got blood and put it on herself."

"At this point, we just have to pray and ask God to help us move forward through this situation, I know it's traumatizing as it is," said Rivera.

Jfc I really hope she gets all the help and pulls through OK.

Well shit. It's good she managed to survive but her innocence is so beyond gone. She'll probably get to start learning to cook in a few more years and discover that the sight of any blood is all it takes to make her have panic attacks or flashbacks.

Damn, that was a risky move, but incredibly quick witted of her. Shooter could have went around taking kill shots at his victim's and she would have been vulnerable then. Still to even have to do that and still probably have mental flashbacks to those moments must be incredibly traumatic for her. Glad she and other students survived so they can tell their stories and let more people know of the horrific unjust consequences of mass shooting and domestic terrorism. Bless that girl.

Seriously, the ones that had the suffer the most will remember all too well and one day hopefully their efforts bring about the positive change so many people are desperate for, but those in power keep from us.

This would be strong survival instinct in almost any other situation but no child should have to resort to this especially not an elementary school student.

No way this child grows up normal now, but hopefully they can get the therapy they will need.

Just remeber as well - Staffers during the insurection on Jan 6th knew how to hide and stay safe because of active shoot drills they all went through in HS. This country is rotten to the core.
