If you like the Risen series or any Gothic style games, I couldn't recommend it enough. You'll already be use to jank combat and bad hit boxes, which is my only real gripe with this game.

The world building, freedom of choice and writing is all phenomenal. Honestly, I don't know if I ever played a game that was this scale and actually held up the promise of having this much freedom on how you approach quests. Not to mention, characters have unique conversation for everything you do.

It also really feels like a post apocalypse world socially. Nobody treats you like a protagonist and they're not just doing things to further your quests. They all have thought out motives of their own.

It's one those games where you can run around a town doing smaller quests for hours and not even care you're not doing something more exciting, because the writing and lore pulls you in.

Last but not least, it delivers on a hand crafted world. Where most items are only where they make sense and there's visual world lore.

I will say, if you need a fast experience where you get everything immediately, stay far away >_>. Im 30 hours in and can't even join a faction yet or use magic/powerful weapons. The combat is serviceable when you get use to it, but it's definitely not why you play this

If it's still $9 right now. I highly recommend it. Play it on Normal. I like these type of games tough and it's gonna be frustrating at first figuring out what enemies to fight and what not to even on normal. Just save people fights tho.

Definitely gettong the sequel that just released later on. Id pay $60 for this. But if I don't gotta, even better

If I was forced to make a comparison. Id say The earlier Witchers (even tho this is completely open world) mixed with Outward.
