Yusuke vs minoru was a randomly well animated fight. it's worth a rewatch

I like how theres thousands of demons stronger than Toguro and that Toguro himself just seems like complete fodder the very next arc

I'd say the entire show is fantastic up to and including the Dark Tournament.

The next arc, Chapter Black, has some strong moments, but overall gets overly convoluted and misses the mark at key spots.

Everything after Chapter Black kinda sucks tbh, and is pretty disappointing.

Dark Tournament hard carries. I'm not that opposed to Toguro being like what, a B or A level demon that gets dwarfed next arc. You know something something still human, humanity holding him back from going full feral unkillable beast.
I like Chapter Black a lot but the end is a crash landing. Right before the shit happens and the series leaps over the shark though, Sensui's a lot of fun.

well the main four also became stronger than him way too fast

like end of chapter black arc they're all like lower S ranks

I did like the feel of the early one's where he's just spirit detective scoping out dudes and trying to find some demons of course I've heard the dub lends the show overall a LOT of charm compared to how the dialogue is in the subs.

The idea of the Chapter Black tape was so cool when I was a kid, but now I have a folder full of recorded atrocities and doesn't even faze me. Internet kinda killed some ideas.
