I wrote this up in the closed topic but it got closed so I'm not gonna let all these keystrokes go to waste.

I will say, all of these families appear to have good looking houses and homes with happy looking families for the most part. So I'm going to take it a step further and guess that it isn't necessarily JUST guns or JUST mental illness.

I think it's money.

I think being poor in this country is a virtually inescapable hellhole filled with despair, and when people have had enough, they find a way to scrape together enough cash for a gun and just end everything.

This is just a guess based on what little I know about any mass shooter in recent memory as I don't give them the decency of learning their names and spreading their fame, but did any of them appear to come from families with even modest amounts of wealth?

Also this reads like an "I hate poor people" post which it ABSOLUTELY isn't. It's more about identifying the potential correlation between lack of money and desire to do shit like shoot up schools.

You're aware that there's are tens upon tens of millions of poor people in America who don't go on a shooting spree, right?

And that many school shooter were middle class?

Like wtf is this topic. The more I think about it the worse it gets.

No, the vast majority of the perpetrators of these mass shootings do not come from poverty.

I don't know why you'd posit this without looking at even just a couple of the ones that have happened recently.

Maybe the one's you see, most of them are from meth heads, highschool dropouts, and future school shooters.

No, it's definitely mental illness.

And the cause of that illness isn't economic. These shooters are overwhelmingly young men which is a demographic fully capable of escaping poverty. I believe it's because they lack meaning in their lives. This can (rarely but still possibly) lead to the kind of belief that killing innocent people is a rational thing to do.
