That's what happens when there's no "Big CFC" to buy politicians like there is with Big Oil.

It's amazing how the same guy was also responsible for inventing leaded gasoline, then getting poisoned by it then sold it to the public and poisoning himself again just to show he wasn't immediately harmed by the lead. Then of course he went on to strangling himself to death with his own invention.

If the acid rain they predicted when I was in school happened we wouldn't be having fights about removing confederate monuments.

CFCs were easily replaced. Fossil fuels aren't.

True, but there are tons of ways to reduce fossil fuel use. Work for home (where possible) should be encouraged as much as possible to reduce gas use (and prices). However, things like the oil lobby and local business lobbies prevent this from happening.

I don't think you quite understand what "acid rain" is.

It's not like the rain is going to fall and burn your skin. All rain has some level of acidity in it. It was exponentially worse in the 70's and 80's than it is now, but it's still not great.

There was some scuttlebutt that nuclear testing burned off a bunch of ozone, but all I can find that's not obvious conspiracy bullshit, is a government abstract that states, more or less, "not as much as we guessed".

CFCs were determined to be something like 70x as destructive as the second most destructive thing.
