There are bones present, something MK only understands when it happens to fall into a situation where you need to see the bone(like a spine or something). They get the basic idea of where specific stuff goes, like 'oh, teeth go here, and intestines are here' but actually watch fatalities that split characters open. It's absurd to think how wildly inaccurate it is to the human body. A good example is to look at whenever they use guns. Terminator's got a fatality where he shoots them mid-air with a shotgun. Idk if you've ever seen what a shotgun does(unfortunately, I have seen videos of what they do), but it doesn't make you explode. And for people that have 'seen execution videos' you'd think they would have seen people getting shot. It's just wildly inaccurate, they get the spots where human bones go and that's about it. But even the classic MK games got that correct. It's one of the dumbest articles I've seen for that very reason. They watched these execution videos and yet every fatality is vaguely accurate sometimes in terms of bone placement, yet not accurate in terms of how a body actually looks. He was able to be near the marker for an extended amount of time and not turn into a necromorph. Considering markers drive people mad, like a brain parasite of knowledge, he had to get the information extracted from his brain. Which happened to be easiest if you stick a needle into the eye. ~~At the time, iirc, he's being tricked by the marker so it can build another marker, I believe.
