I did not think much of it, but I suddenly googled, it may catch fire or explode.
It has not done so, but I guess I should disconnect this shiet.
Especially because summer here is absolutely brutal.

How did you just find out now that bloated laptops are dangerous? Did it never occur to you what the problem was?

Is it just the battery? Can you take it out/replace it?

In theory, it should be possible to pull the battery and run it off of wall power. Assuming, of course, it's not one of those that refuses to boot without a battery.

Replacing the battery is going to be an ordeal if the laptop is more than a couple or three years old. Replacement batteries may not even exist, or they're sketchy aftermarket knockoffs that have a huge chance of not even working right out of the box.
