A View To A Kill is my favorite non-Brosnan Bond movie (GoldenEye is my favorite Bond movie)

The problem with watching Dalton before any Moore movies is you don't get the mood whiplash. Roger Moore was steadily getting more and more campy, and older in each film. Then it went almost full 180 with nearly-psychotic Dalton. To say it didn't resonate with audiences was an understatement.

I've always had a soft spot for all of the Brosnan movies except for Die Another Day, my easily least favorite of the series. Tomorrow Never Dies actually aged better, because in this modern time a media conglomerate trying to drive up stories through nefarious means resonates way more today than it did in 1997. Also, TWINE is inoffensive but I thought very good. The casting of Christmas Jones is the worst part

I agree that TWINE is largely inoffensive, and does have some aspects I enjoy like Electra's character and performance, and Robert Carlyle's performance. I agree about Denise Richards, she is not good in the film at all imo. That said it is nowhere near as good as Tomorrow Never Dies, I used to consider them both to be about the same in quality, but TND has gone way up in my estimation over the years. And yeah the media mogul plot has aged very well. Die Another Day has a great opening, and a great sword fight but is otherwise awful. I remember watching it in the cinema with friends, we were all so hyped after that opening, and by the end of the film were totally confused and disspointed.

I think the N64 game added to my nostalgia for TWINE, cause damn it was actually good! The multiplayer mode I played a butt ton with my friend so that probably elevates it for me. Similar to Goldeneye having a superb game along with it that helps it reach legendary status. I did play TND on the PS1 a bunch, but it didn't have the same impact for me imo.

I haven't seen TND in ages. It's probably my least watched one out of the Brosnan films (Die Another Day somehow I've seen more than once which is impressive).

Agreed that DAD had a great intro (and the whole M reluctantly getting him out of prison plot point) but really meh second and third act. While it's a Bond movie, the bad guy's son suddendly having money and resources to build an IT empire AND launch a satellite were way over the top
