I'm vaxxed and defend Joe constantly.

He's just a dude who knows a few things well and likes to talk about anything. He has a lot of shallow or contentious opinions(like most people) and has thousands of hours of him talking through those opinions. Opinions on countless subjects.

To clean his show up the way people want would end up stealing the charm away from the show. I don't want moderated bull shit from hand selected guests like every other show. Joe's openness, which often gets him in trouble, is the reason why the show is fun. Joe doesn't have angles outside of learning what the person has to say.

The story he's talking about sounds incredibly fake, yet he wants to believe it so badly because it fits his narrative. It doesn't matter that he admitted he was wrong. This illustrates his mindset when looking for "news" to cover.

The only reason he didn't double down on this is because the only places circulating this was social media posts on Facebook and Twitter.

If there was a handful of articles that told him what he wanted to say he'd believe it.

Like I said he is still posting false claims about what is happening in Australia by claiming that grocery stores are banned. He has spent months doubling down over false claims he has made about the Australian Government. He does not deserve credit when it took an actual producer on air to tell him that there's literally no source telling him what he wants to hear.

There's a difference between being a dumbass about things that don't matter and being a dumbass about vaccines and foreign Government responses to a pandemic. The latter things matter due to the amount of people who listen to him.

I believe you overestimate the amount of swayable opinions in this world. I highly doubt there were very many people on the fence listening to Rogan to decide whether or not they were gonna get vaxxed. Where Rogan's opinion is if you are young and healthy you don't need a vaccine.. Which is wrong, but let's not act like he is out there saying "HORSE PASTE IS ALL YALL NEEDS" like people make him out to be doing.

And if his fan base is indeed that easily swayed, then holy shit they must be having whiplash because Joe has a new opinion that directly opposes his old opinions each week.

There's an outside chance that if he's exposed to enough of these he'll start to realize that they're all crap. That's certainly how I finally got out of that vicious cycle..

Validating completely false lies that exist solely for propaganda is still damaging and Rogan perpetuates that by spreading it further and to more people.

Sorry but if you think one of the most popular podcasters who gets paid millions of dollars to sponsor products and be exclusive to a music streaming service isn't influential over his audience you're being naive.

Rogan isn't being an idiot about this. He opposes vaccine mandates and lockdowns. Australia is one of the countries that is noted for having successful mandates and lockdowns. He specifically picks these stories to portray the narrative that Australian is an authoritarian hellhole. So when people suggest anything similar in the US to combat any pandemic he and a large chunk of followers will point and say "But have you seen how bad things are in Australia? Do you want us to be like that?"

It doesn't matter that 99% of the stuff he says is complete bullshit. It matters that people believe it. Which they do. It's a common tactic for stuff like this. We literally had an abortion hearing where a Republican guy is grilling a doctor about performing abortions a minute before birth in the birth canal.

Joe Rogan is specifically doing this on purpose. In this case it blew up in his face. But don't act like he's just some ignorant idiot who is doing this by accident. Even if this was somehow true that means someone is still manipulating him to perpetuate the narratives that he consistently portrays and he is doing absolutely nothing about it.

He's reinforcing ideas, sure. But nothing you or any expert can do or say will change their minds. If he were to do exactly as you wanted, he would merely "prove" to those viewers that he is a left wing puppet. I stand by the fact that there were very few people on the fence utilizing JRE to decide whether or not they should vax.

While you're literally exhibiting the same distrust that him and those viewers have towards the media and government. Assuming that he's acting out of some kind of right wing special interest with absolutely no base for accusing him of doing so.

This lack of faith in higher authorities will continue until higher authorities start acting in a matter that is trustworthy. Your own thoughts prove there is a pervasive lack of trust towards power. Some people think it's the right wing media, some think it's the left wing media, some know that it's both.
