They say that immortality is a curse because you'd keep seeing everyone you meet die. But let's say you had the option to live forever as well as all of your friends, family, and the people you care about. Would you do it then?

Immortality is best suffered with people you love and if a large group of you is immortal then it could be fun, certainly better then being alone.

This made me think of another question:

Let's say that the government found a way to make people immortal but made it illegal for any normal person to use (like murder).

What if the government made immortality the new form of capital punishment for the worst people in society? These people would be in prison literally forever, being forced to live with the shame of what they did forever.

Would this be even more cruel than the death penalty (which I am against, btw) in your opinion? I think it would be. At least with death it is a form of release for them.
