Can someone explain to me why he was in prison? I get the whole jacking up the price of medicine thing was the ultimate scumbag move, but I never heard anyone say it was illegal. I remember that being one of the major talking points when he did it that it should be.

I do not know how to tell another human being that making a life-saving drug way too expensive for the patients who genuinely need it somehow spits in the face of morality as well as legality.

Funny thing is his Daraprim stunt had no bearing on the case. He was convicted of totally different things.

I dont think anyone will disagree with you. I think the question is more what did they actually get him for in the end rather than condoning what he did with the price gouging?

The Daraprim fiasco pointed out the absurdities in drug regulations and patents, but we refused to learn the lessons. The stuff was first marketed in the 50s, yet somehow only one company was allowed to make it up until 2020.
