Been playing this game for a bit and theres the known stuff like scamming and griefing is encouraged. Beyond that there are entire groups that spew racist and nationalistic garbage constantly without consequence.

Certain groups will only take you if you prove your ethnicity and theres even an Alliance that identifies as neo-nazi and even made references to it in an official tournament.

Wtf is this....

There's a reason I stopped.

For the record I played during 06-10, under IAC (Interstellar Alcohol Conglomerate) before/during the original Great War with BoB. Let me tell you, Operation prohibition 1 and 2 from Mercenary Coalition was a great trial of fire. The alliance was never super amazing, but damn was it fun... those days are over.

PS. I witnessed the hatching of F4R2-Q's gallente outpost in 06. It's all gone now, and looking at the game now is just a confusing mess. Damn capitals using stargates? YOU YOUNGIN'S

PSS The scaming and theft was sorta always present. You can thank the guiding hand social club pulling a heist of an alliance, and a PC mag publishing it, that caused every scum bug to try and scam each other. Completely changed the game to scam land.

Those games are just individuals acting like shit lords. Eve seems to promote group toxic behavior. Been playing online games since the early 2000s and never ran across something like this.

Only game where I listen to vets talk about stuff and am actually intrigued. The stories that come out of the game are amazing, easy to miss being in the middle of it maybe.

The GH-SC heist was basically a 10 month long infiltration so they could move up the ranks, steal a bunch of valuable at the time items, and pod a player they were hired to assassinate.

Also I got to see one of the Imperial Apocalypses in 'person' before it got destroyed. There were only ever 4 iirc.

And as a bonus I just remembered, I once was on the test server and an actual dev gave me his amarr shuttle. Now this doesn't sound too special, til you realize the shuttle was hacked to go 30km/s and carry 3 giant secure containers that take up 9000m of space that somehow fit in a 10m cargo bay.
That was a great 15 seconds until I shot off the grid in 1 double click and he command killed me.

Its wild, just recently a guy stole a bunch of limited edition ships from an Alliance after gaining their trust and cleaning out their hangar. Thousands of dollars worth of stuff.

I make the topic and less than a day later another large Alliance, Snuffed Out, is taken over by a month long espionage operation ousting one of the top Fleet Commanders in the game.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Eve/comments/usorct/lowsec_shake_up/

Good evening EVE Online

Late last night a coup was launched in Snuffed Out by Anure and Wallymarts, ousting Tau AD from leadership. This follows months of meticulous planning by Timoxa Zero and Seddow to poach Tau and other core members of Snuffed out when Anure/Wally made their move. As proof I have included a screenshot proving this plan was successful. We expect prominent members like BombTymer, viceman, Nuke Michael and Phantomite to be joining this week. We didn't want to post this earlier, due to the sensitive nature of a Revenant moving to 2Q-.

Tau upon accepting the invite was immediately appointed to leadership. Now some of us, myself included question this decision because the SRP wallet was announced empty this morning. Now we can't point fingers, but we have a decent idea who it was. Leadership has unfortunately denied these allegations and stated Tau will be bringing us on a deployment by the end of this month. Now if you ask me, I think this deployment announcement was to take our attention away from the missing funds. Anyhow, lets talk about the deployment. Tau stated that the Amarr/Winmatar warzone was a non-stop shop for high quality PVP action. He did not give specifics of our end destination, only that he wanted Crunchwrap coalition to have more of a low-sec focus.

We are left with a lot of questions, namely how did Anure and Wally pull off yet another coup so shortly after NSH's failscade. Hopefully within the next coming weeks we will get a glimpse into exactly what transpired on that fateful night. For now, we are happy to welcome Tau and any other Snuffed Out Refugee's. We have the chain from Raka to staging already setup, just join standing and ask for a light. Godspeed.

Video game fanbase specifically or in general? Because, as much as I hate to say it, the star wars fanbase is toxic as fuck.

The worst chat I ever encountered while playing a game was Black Desert Online. I think it has changed hands so maybe they cleaned up. It was...something. I actually quite playing because I felt like I was going to end up on a watch list unless I muted everyone.
