If you are trying to get someone interested in your game, don't obliterate them and give them zero chance to even get a feel for it. He made him hate it almost instantly. That in itself was dumb.

he probably isn't great with finances in general and tanked after quitting his job

This was a really old video. He did find some success afterwards. He didn't just drop off the earth or give up. He's still active actually.

It's probably more that he has spent 26 years trying to give this idea momentum.

Tbh I think the worst part was that people use their arms to play. Automatically the game is more complicated than it needs to be. Like I'm sure there's a rule that you can't simply lean forward and block the goal (or maybe he specifically designed the table to stop this) but you don't really need to read rules to play air hockey or ping pong.

If he spent 26 years actually refining it maybe he would have figured out a way to make it more accessible but I get the feeling it hasn't changed at all lol

At the end of the day he did kinda win. He's got a happy life and some success following his dream. That's more then what can be said then most of CE.

You don't think his life would have been better if he didn't spend decades and lived out of a car for periods because he was putting all his money into some dumb ping pong air hockey thing just because it actually ended up making him a little money in the end?

And for a bit of a happy ending here, Bulletball has actually found some success as a fun (and easy to learn) accessible game for people with disabilities, and was even a game at the "Senior Olympics"

i mean i'm glad they were able to use it to help people, but it can't be overlooked that the vast majority of the people they showed playing the game had some kind of handicap lol

If two people are wheelchair bound, who the fuck is gonna get the balls when they drop to the floor?!? Not to mention that people will most likely fuck their hands up by accidentally hitting the wooden railings.

I did some more digging around and yeah all these events were sponsored by the guy himself. 26 years down the toilet. Perhaps the guy is doing okay now, but certainly not through shittier air hockey.

He has my respect for the amount of money, time, resources, work and dedication put into his dream. It's just a pity it wasn't a very good one.
