Its like the USA has to simultaneously be the most accepting and most bigoted country in the world, despite there being 194 other countries on this globe with their own social issues.

The US is pretty s.o.l. , but anytime someone says something about black omission in China its all crickets. I do not get it. Cant we focus on multiple issues?

What makes you think it isn't? We talk about it plenty in our own respective countries.

Not our fault Americans focus on America.

A lot of American protestors claim to be more globalistic about their disdain for racism/bigotry but simultaneously only seem to focus on America.

As an American, americans are self-centered for the most part. Those truly globally minded will go on aid missions around the world, but the vast majority of us only care about issues in so far as to how they affect our own lives.

Because it's far easier for Americans to focus on issues within their own country than those abroad.

Those other countries may also be much more authoritarian where such discussions are either heavily discouraged or outright shut down.

The US nearly stands alone in diversity. Its not weird to expect the same people caring about the complex issues of race here to then extend these lines of thinking towards less diverse countries.

Problem again is its still locally focused in the place of origin period and I would think logically speaking you attempt to fix the problems home then reach out.

I don't think racism will ever stop, no matter where. As long as there are differences with the way you look and act and live, there will always be someone that will discriminate and hate.

Oh stop.

What actually spurred this topic was an article on how Disney (an American company) appeases audiences overseas by making their minority characters less prolific while also claiming to be an ally to oppressed communities.

It means you feign concern for an issue mainly by expressing umbrage towards proponents of that issue. You don't actually want to talk about it or address anything concerning that issues opponents. Mostly used as a way of deflecting and distracting from actual legitimate discussion surrounding that issue.

Disney has no ethics or morals, only a desire to profit as much as possible.

while it might be the case that "there will always be someone that will discriminate and hate," there are societal mechanisms in place that put specific groups of people at a disadvantage. that is; there are groups of people that are marginalized by society. that marginalization makes those groups significantly easier targets for "discrimination and hate" at the individual level
