I want to upgrade my shell from the standard white to a matte black, and I've seen some brands around Amazon that feature side ventilation that they claim "improves" air flow and reduces the chances of overheating on extended play. Has anyone had any experience with these, and if so, does it make a difference in air flow improvement? I've seen some Reddit posts that say they have a detrimental effect and bring in dust.

your only problem is white is much more attractive in general

Truthfully, unless you have a fan right there, you don't want to mess with the current pressure flow

Looks like dust will have an easier time getting inside.

I'm not asking in terms of cost. I am asking about functionality. And besides, most of these cost $35-$50, so it's not some major expense that requires expendable income.

@Unsugarized_Foo that's what I thought. A fair amount of reddit replies said it turned it into a dust magnet. So I'm probably just going to get the more sleek-looking plates instead.

The side plates? Those are in a set for that cost. I already have the console.

This and the PS5 already has a sufficient ventilation system. Obviously not perfect but it's designed to work that way.
