TC, rich people buy things on loans not because they are poor, but because it is more convenient for liquidity and dodges a ton of taxes.

The average idiot taking out a mortgage is not doing so because theyre trying to avoid taxes on their other less liquid assets. Theyre doing so because they cant afford it otherwise and need a place to live.

Elon could come up with 40B of his own money if he really wanted to. It just wouldnt be efficient.
