With so many different cancers, and with how shit the healthcare industry is, how are they normally discovered? Breast cancer and testicular cancer probably being easier, but something like esophageal, liver, stomach, etc. seems rather difficult to discover early.

That's the fucked up thing. Like it generally won't show on blood results most of the time.

How and when you think there was a problem?

Esophageal is almost impossible to discover early. That's why it killed my dad.
I had lymphoma and got lucky enough to catch it at stage one.

It's honestly by chance and a good doctor that sees the signs

ive had testicular. no lumps i thought i had pulled my back at work.

blood tests had tumor markers and a ultrasound revealed a large mass surrounding/crushing my kidney, the cancer moved into my lymph nodes. that was the back pain.

Had a dull ache in my lower back a few months before I actually decided to have it checked.
Funny enough. I only pissed blood once. After they found it.

What made them check for it with just a lower back pain? That seemingly could be anything, so I'm curious where they started from.

Sometimes. I was lightly anemic in some blood work but they certainly didn't think it was cancer.

Doctor started feeling around and noticed my spleen was pushed out. Sent me for an ultra sound. Headed home after that and got a call from his nurse shortly after.

Just a weird deal I guess. Perfect labs. Perfect kidney function. Cantaloupe sized tumor removed within a month.
