Madonna has been mercilessly ridiculed online after releasing a bizarre collection of NFT videos that feature graphic digital scans of her own vagina, as well as naked depictions of herself giving birth to trees, butterflies, and robotic centipedes. The 63-year-old - who is no stranger to the shock factor - sparked confusion and even dismay on social media on Wednesday when she debuted the risque NFT collection, which quickly sparked a firestorm of responses on Twitter, with users branding her 'desperate for attention' and calling the clips 'cringe', 'creepy' and 'scary'. Madonna teamed up with digital artist, graphic designer, and animator Beeple (whose real name is Michael Joseph Winkelmann) to make the three NFT videos - also known as non-fungible tokens - which leave very little to imagination. Among the most graphic aspects of the clips are the close-up shots of the Like a Virgin singer's private parts, which were created using scans of the singer's own genitals - and which have sparked the most controversy and outrage on social media.

'Technology was a mistake,' wrote one person after viewing the clips. 'Just what the world needs right now, Madonna,' said someone else sarcastically. Another said that the Vogue singer 'never ceases to amaze them,' while a different user claimed that 'nobody asked for this.' 'Leave it to Madonna to shake things up,' read a different tweet. 'Oh good Heavens. This is a sick, sick, evil world,' said someone else. A different person said they wanted to 'get the f**k off the planet' after seeing the videos, while another called them 'scary, yet hilarious.' Someone else wrote that the 'world has gone insane,' while one user joked that her clips ended the NFT community altogether. 'And there goes the final shred of heterosexuality I had remaining,' said one Twitter user. Someone else simply tweeted, 'Cringe,' in response to the videos. 'Can someone please break it gently to @Madonna that not everybody wants to see her vagina?' begged another person. Another person slammed Madonna for 'desperately seeking attention to stay relevant.' 'She's really desperate for attention in her old age,' agreed another user. A different tweet read, 'She's just continuing her ride to full on weirdo. This is why Janet [Jackson] will always be better.'
