Just a few hours in at the starting area of the game and I'm already almost level 20.

For things like extra side-quests, optional bosses, and stuff to help you farm levels and money.

Oh, and it has free DLC for a difficulty level that's easier than Casual, called Safety. I assume you just never have to worry about dying and can just auto-battle everything.

i never understood the fun of being so immensely overlevelled that nothing is remotely challenging

smt combat is already really simple actually, but when the game has a severe level curve on top you basically win every fight for free as long as you play competently. it's really hard to lose in a game where your level dictates your damage and skills, but then you add in how broken press turn is and it's just really easy to basically checkmate bosses just by being at an appropriate level

Damn, I still need to beat SMT3 on Steam. Slowly falling into "forgot what the fuck I was doing" category since I started and finished other games since the last time I played.

I didn't bother with the DLC until I was already at the end of the game and felt that I needed the grinding.

But the final boss is underleveled, so it didn't really help much anyway.

When I was younger, I had stuff like Game Genie, and loved using cheat codes. Always made the game pretty fun for me, somehow.

But now that I'm at Shiba and unlocked demon fusing, I'm learning that Atlus has made the whole process MUCH easier compared to what it was like in the first game. There's no difficult equations going into demon fusing requiring a graph or anything, it's just 1 + 2 = 3. And the game actually tells you which demons are available for fusing based on which ones you summoned before. AND you can re-summon demon races at the last level they were at, too.

So now I'm addicted to grinding money to keep summoning more and more demons and trying to "collect them all".

I really like the game for the most part but I couldn't be bothered to pay for the somewhat lackluster DLC. Hopefully they announce a new update with some story and gameplay additions, even if just a few, to get more out of the game.

You say that but rng plays a heavy factor in determining whether you or your enemy can make a comeback out of a bad situation

Yeah, Press Turn only works as long as you don't know what the enemy's affinities are like.

Once you do, and once you build teams that can take enemies' attacks, Press Turn becomes incredibly easy to break.
