SRS is outdated, even the tweet uses one of the more common terms nowadays. Gender confirmation surgery or gcs is the more common form. And yep, trans people face employment discrimination and many of us are well below the poverty line but for surgeries we are supposed to see a therapist or two so we can get letters saying we're actually trans and will benefit from the surgery before we can even book our consultation.
