Ive played with plenty of smaller, regional, part-time orchestras, but the SAN DIEGO SYMPHONY is the first big boy, top-level I auditioned for them back in February, made it close to the end but didnt win the spot. Thanks everyone! Im a double bassist. Im not sure how they do subs; sometimes the sub takes the chair of the member who is out, and sometimes the present members just move forward and the subs are in the back stands. The next step is to keep taking job auditions and go for a permanent spot in an orchestra.
