I like your tie for first place but I don't like the rest.

BB > DaS3 > DeS > DaS > DaS2

I haven't completed either Elden Ring or Sekiro, but with the way things are, I'd either put ER before or after BB.

Sekiro is also pretty dope, from what I played, but idk how to properly rank it among the others.

Haven't played Demon Souls or Sekiro but I'd say

There are some days I agree with this

The hate for DaS2 has always been way overblown and undeserved, but it's been really weird seeing so much hate for DaS3 lately

I actually really liked Dark Souls 2, and I'd probably put it over the first Dark Souls if it had more polish, like the rest of the franchise, and more interesting, well done bosses.

Bosses are kind of lame in the older games after going against the one's in later games.

I just think it's... kind of terrible. It's a really good action game, and I know that there are people who view Souls games first and foremost in that lens, but I never did. I don't think the action elements in Souls are that great, and even if they were, It'd still not be why I play them. I want to be immersed in their atmosphere and world. And the constant "hey, remember this thing from DS1?" of DS3 just ruins any immersive quality the game could have had.

The world or it's non-history isn't engaging. The Ringed City DLC's lore is obnoxious and uninteresting both. Ashes of Ariandel is just... awful. I think the return to Anor Londo is handled really well, it's just a shame that at that time I've become numb to such things after a sea of awful reference zones like Ash Lake/Demon copypasta ruins, The Artorias cosplayers, MORE catacombs, etc.

I genuinely feel contempt towards DS3, despite it having some of my favourite bosses in all of video games.

I don't think DS2 is particularly good, but I can play it without being bothered by its very existence.

Havent played Sekiro, but you know how I feel about BB. I think I have dks3 a lot closer to dks1 than you.

Only reason I have DaS3 above DaS2 is the endless hours of fun I had with the PvP. PvE wise it's easily my least favorite of them all. There is so much I don't like about DaS3 PvE.

As much as I enjoy the fast paced frenetic action of BB and Sekiro, that's not what I want from a Souls game. I prefer the slower methodical weird gimmick based esoteric RPGishness of the first few games to the frantic constantly dodging over the top skill based action of the later games. This is even more pronounced in ER, but I still rank it highly because it nailed the mostly open ended exploration of the earlier games, while DaS3 is as linear as BB even though it really didn't have to be narrative wise like BB did. DaS2 has a lot of issues as well, but it at least feels like it's own game and still feels Souls like to play, while DaS3 feels like I'm playing BB with a DaS1 skin slapped on it.
