instead of going to the bar and getting shit faced because I have to visit a client 6am in the morning tomorrow.

It's a good film, I'm hesitant to call it a bad film but I'll say it's disappointing. Some positives is that it does deviate from the MCU formula, which I'm 100% for, the special effects look spectacular like the first film, and the acting overall was great like usual. The biggest negative is the actual multiverse itself, it felt very under utilized. Maybe if I didn't watch Everything Everywhere All At Once, which took the multiverse concept to tell an amazing and great story, I probably could give this movie a pass on it. Also don't expect much from the cameos because that's just what they are, just cameos. They don't really do anything interesting with them either.

7/10 movie, I still think it's worth a watch though.

Is it scary? I heard it was scary.

There are definitely some scenes in the film that are pushing the envelope on what they can show for a PG-13 MCU movie. I wouldn't say it's scary, but there are some great scenes that feel like out of a horror film, and considering it's a Sam Raimi movie it's to be expected.

I agree about the underused multiverse aspect. I was just delighted to see the MCU get weird as fuck for once. And seeing the full scope of Scarlett Witchs power was great.

And even though the cameos were just in one sequence, that was my favorite part of the film. It showed some pretty violent stuff for PG-13.

Yeah, I like that MCU films and shows now are being more experimental with their property's. Whatever they do to deviate from the formula, I'm 100% for.

But yeah seeing Mr. Fantastic and Dr. Xavier was great and Black Bolt dying from his own powers actually had me chuckle. Though the scene with Captain Carter getting cut in half from her own shield was a holy shit moment.

I've been super hyped for this movie but last week, I got this feeling to temper my expectations and I'm glad I did because whew. Lots I did like about it though, but maybe not enough for early viewing.

Yeah that's probably the best advice to give for someone about to watch this movie, keep your expectation at a reasonable level. I'll admit it's a great movie, but for a multiverse movie I wish it did more with it. Like American Chavez was barely a character. She honestly just felt like a plot device. I mean you have a badass girl that can punch to get different multiverse's, do more with her!
