Half my suspensions came from the fact I had purgatories in my history.

And since for a long time 6 month suspensions were permanently in your mod history, they'd always basically auto suspend me.

Had three 6 month purgatories in my mod history at one point

No I was just inappropriate for gamefaqs at times. Then it just turned into suspensions for things that should've been a warning at worst lol.

From what I understand, you literally can't contest suspensions. So a mod can suspend any post for any reason, even if you've never had a suspension before.

Suspensions no longer Purge.

They use to go away after a few weeks, now they stay for an entire year.

Mods have stated openly many times, that how they interpret the intent (maliciousness) of one's post is due to their mod history, it has also been stated many times that suspensions are due to a poor mod history, and it's tough to get them on a clean history.

In a nutshell, getting one suspension lines of the dominos, and getting two tips them over. At that point they just keep on going until it finishes -- so all you can do is wait it out.

The order of operations:

• One suspension makes it more likely you'll receive a second due to poor mod history
• Having two definitely means you are getting a third as soon as you get a minor infraction
• Having three means breathing gets you a fourth
• Now you either stop posting for a year or get banned

I'm not even thrashing the system, when they updated it in October they obviously did so for a reason. I'm just saying, that is why people are getting suspended at a higher rate nowadays, suspensions are just more easy to get now. Thats all.
