Teach em Right!!by right they clearly mean to shoot at a target on a thin wooden fence in direct line of another house with a high power rifle

this is why we need real training and why idiots like this shouldnt have guns. They think this is right lol. Really hope their neighbors werent home.

I'm also guessing TC has never touched a gun or he might had thought of the fact that literally no one would put up a fence just to shoot it into pieces with a real rifle. Maybe he thinks that people just shoot their neighbors' houses with "high powered rifles", I dunno.

But here he is ree-ing about people needing "real" training. Like he would know.

Honestly, whether it's a "real" gun or an airsoft gun is irrelevant.

One of the rules of gun safety is that you don't just point it all willy nilly at people, homes, animals, or property.

Sure, there may be a fence there, but a house is on the other side with a very likely chance people live there. A bb or a plastic pellet can injure someone, and contrary to popular belief they can travel through a wooden fence.

But it doesn't change the fact that theres a big ass difference in sending plastic bbs in your backyard vs 5.56. Spare me the pearl clutching.

Yeah I had this thought too and if the intent is to train her how to use a real gun by using a fake gun, then they should be treating the fake fun as if it were real. Otherwise they are training her wrong. It's the same principle as keeping your finger off the trigger even if you know it's unloaded. You build habits for safety.

My point was that a forward assist has no determination whether a gun is real or not. There are fake ones with them and real one without.

Of course this woulda taken like 30 seconds on Google but it is always more fun to argue with strangers about it.

Even if it's an airsoft, isn't it still a bad idea? Couldn't a shot go through the gap in the fence boards and still hit a window or a person? Never shot one of those kind so I don't know how powerful they are.

And I was taught at a young age about shooting guns. I wasn't even a teenager. The thing is, my dad taught me that while guns are fun to shoot, they're dangerous tools and no sort of politics was involved like how I imagine it was here. I bet dad/mom here goes on about protecting themselves from evil dangerous liberals or some similar crap.

Cool. I learned something today, like I said I don't fuck with airsoft so yeah after a quick Google search found that some do and some don't. So sounds like we're on the same page that it could be either. So do we really need to fight and be nasty to each other? Fucks sake.

If it seems unsafe for any reason, it IS unsafe period.

That said, if it's an airsoft, it won't get through the fence and even if got through the gaps (which look close enough together that I don't think it'll happen), a pellet won't get through clean enough to maintain any kind of momentum.

Could still break a window or hit anything taller than that fence. Better hope there aren't any really tall neighbors or kids that a pellet shot over the fence could fall on. These people are fucking stupid no matter how you look at them and that middle target looks like it's been used too.

If it is airsoft then at worst it's a bad idea and in poor taste, as a common courtesy I wouldn't do it. Realistically it would be a literal 1 in a billion chance someone could get really hurt or property damaged. Still, as long as there wasn't a direct line of fire to my house (meaning it's just open yard on my side of the fence) I wouldn't care if my neighbor did this.

BUT, for the sake of argument, the manufacturers themselves say to treat air/bb/pellet guns as real firearms and this obviously wouldn't fly with a real gun.

literally a joke picture thats years old to troll people.

but yes, if youre going to have kids and own guns, teach them about them and make sure they know how to properly and safely use them. i learned when i was 6. boys and girls both did where i grew up and you never heard of problems related to them because everyone took away the curiosity and showed what they were capable of.

thats a large part as to why we have so many accidents because people still stigmatize them and try to keep them hidden (out of sight out of mind) which furthers their curiosity and grandiose notion of them. which is an insane prospect in a country that has more guns than people.
