Lack of sales caused the downfall of hentai anime and it's been declining for over a decade.

There's still a bunch of "totally not hentai" anime like High School DxD that has pretty good animation quality.

I agree in general though that new stuff is worse than even really old shit like Cream Lemon.

It's unfortunate too, right as localized releases were starting to pick up in the west, you start seeing a bunch of studios (even makers of the classics) shut down left and right

Resort Boin is still a classic >_> But yeah, I can't recall any good hentai anime recently. I remember being hyped for Overflow because it was apparently made by the same guy that did Sora no Iro, Mizu no Iro. But it sucked imo

I also have a few other games like this one that I only got because the art is cute and I liked the music in the trailer and I recognized a hentai VA as one of the girls and she plays the same personality girl as always >.>

I mean more than a few anime VAs also do hentai and eroge, and not always under an alias. Even when they have an alias, like 95% of the ones I've looked up listed that they were the alias of X, which in turn meant you'd know who they were anyways.

It especially sucks because it's hard to find the classic stuff, and if anybody has the license, they aren't streaming anymore. I wonder if there is a legal issue? A certain website that owns the rights to a boatload of hentai manga and anime no longer streams anime (the category is gone, and the player is broken if you can get to the page, and there has been no explanation).

The tradeoff is that fan art is way better than it used to be.

Thats why you buy physical. A vast majority of the mainstream stuff can still be bought on DVD today. And CriticalMass has a lot of releases of the older stuff.

But if you just looking for some softer ecchi content, you can find boatloads on any streaming service.

Queen Bee isn't hentai. It's a Manhwa.

The doujin hentai RPG market is hot these days. There's a bunch of those games coming out, and a decent portion of the better ones eventually get translated.
