This isnt curing any disease. If they forgive all debt, 10 years from now we will be in an even worse situation since institutions will see more free money and just keep raising tuition.

I don't support erasing student loans. It is debt that these people willingly took on and got something of value in return. I do however support new regulations making those loans less predatory, with far more reasonable terms and making those changes retroactive to everyone who still has outstanding student loans.

Id rather the government use that money to fund more programs for the arts and sciences so theres more decent paid work for degree holders and theres at least something to show for it.

Clearly because the students knew what they were doing when they were manipulated and pressured into taking on these predatory loans while never being made fully aware of the lifelong burden they would never be able to escape from underneath.

It's their own fault for not having ever had a chance to have any actual life experience with loans/interest rates (especially large ones), a school system that doesn't teach them how to prepare for that, and a society that feeds them the lie "if you go to college you're guaranteed to make tons of money".

It's all a con, and people are so mad that they fell for it that they want to make sure kids continue to fall for it just so they can feel better about themselves.

The problem with student loans isn't that they exist. It's the terms that these companies are allowed to offer. The fact that the high interest rates can just keep piling up making it near impossible for some people to get out from under them. Fixing the interest rate issues would be debt relief. It would make a huge impact on those who are struggling with their loans.
